Altium i10 partners with a select number of endurance sport coaches. These specialist operators deliver a range of performance benefits to their athletes, incorporating Altium i10 altitude simulation into training plans and ensuring that athletes perform to the best of their ability in training and on race day…

The Halo Cycling Project offers cycling coaching worldwide, and on-site training from the company’s stunning eco estate in Girona, northeastern Spain. Halo uses its profits and clients’ successes to give back to women’s cycling. As the company points out, ‘The harder you pedal, the more we give back’.

La Bruguera de Púbol is Halo’s stunning Girona country estate. Formerly the home of Catalan landscape artist Casademont ‘Le Vieux’, its nine acres of Mediterranean forest garden boast a large villa which sleeps 12, a heated saltwater pool, a kitchen garden, a treatment room and an event space. Its location gives athletes straight-out-the-gate access to the roads, trails & hills of the Empordà – Girona’s prime cycling and touristic area. This includes the Gavarres hills and the foothills of the Pyrenees.

Based in southern Spain, only 30 minutes from Alicante airport, Triathlon Training Spain has two camp venues: the Bonalba Hotel and Casa de Triathlo. Alicante Airport has direct flights from every part of Europe, and is predominantly served by low cost airlines. The area has an envious climate, with mild winters and an average of 60% sunshine every day.

Triathlon Training Spain offers professional and qualified multisport coaching for all levels of athletic ability. All sessions have a 1:4 coach-athlete ratio. Training camps include: Swim (weekend), Intensive Swim (week), Triathlon (week) and bespoke training. The structure of all camps and the coaching available makes this one of the stand out ‘all-in’ triathlon training camps available in Europe.

With your next race on the horizon, or as you get ready for a new phase of training, use one of our 2 Altitude Training Protocols to improve your performance. This will ensure that your power, lactate buffering and endurance are all at optimum levels:
  • 15 day protocol – Use the Altium i10 for 15 days consecutively (1 hour per day) in the run up to your next race (allow 72 hours of recovery from simulated altitude before race day).
  • Lifestyle protocol – We understand that your training schedule may be putting a strain on your available time; so to combat this, simply integrate Altium i10 into your training by using it 2-3 times per week (1 hour per day) in the run up to your race (allow 72 hours of recovery from simulated altitude before race day).

Research has shown that being at altitude for a continuous period of time, and training at sea level, improves endurance performance. For the endurance athlete looking to beat a personal best, the Altium i10 device helps by simulating the benefits of being at altitude.
Altium i10 measures and reduces the oxygen concentration that the athlete breathes in. Each session sees the athlete using the device for one hour (6 min session followed by 4 min of rest, repeated for 60 mins). The sessions are performed at rest, e.g. on the sofa, and can be incorporated at a convenient point in the day – fitting around training, work and life in general. With the device helping to build up the exposure to simulated altitude over a period of days, the body adapts to improve oxygen flow to the muscles.
The Altium i10 is currently being used by keen amateur athletes competing at age-group level, along with elite cyclists, runners and triathletes aiming for the pinnacle of their chosen international sport.
Whether you are chasing a Kona slot, or simply want to beat a personal best, Altium i10 is ‘the performance edge you have been searching for’. It offers a way of physically stressing the body to simulate altitude without overloading the body. It is a convenient, alternative and affordable tool that can help you take your training, and racing, to the next level.
